Santiago de la Ribera is a lovely town that sits on the shores of the Mar Menor, Costa Cálida. This old fishing village has 4 kilometres of beach with fine, golden sand. Its Mediterranean waters are ideal for enjoying the sun, sea and water sports all year round. It has an attractive, palm-lined promenade that runs the length of the beach.

It is well worth sampling the local gastronomy, featuring delicious fish and shellfish, and outstanding dishes such as salt-roast sea bream and king prawns. There are two particular summer events which should not be missed: the fiesta of the Virgen del Carmen, patron saint of sailors, on 16 July, and the San Javier International Jazz Festival, in the third week of the same month.

Its excellent situation makes easy to get to Cartagena, Murcia and Orihuela Costa. San Javier airport is only 20 minutes away. In addition to having a wide range of hotels and restaurants and a very rich local gastronomy, Santiago de la Ribera has all kinds of amenities, which makes it one of the favorite destinations of the Costa Cálida.
