It's expected that within the next few years, the Cabo Verde Islands will see one million plus tourists per year with the large majority of them visiting Sal. It is also forecast that there will be a shortage of good quality accommodation in hotels or in private rentals. Sal has seen a lot of changes in the last few years and the future is looking ever more exciting.
Building work is currently in progress on a new Hilton Hotel and Casino. This is very prestigious for Sal as the Hilton Group performs in depth research before committing to develop. This new development is due to open in 2017.
The Resort Group have also already begun building a luxury hotel complex, 'Llana'. This project construction is due to be completed at the end of 2016 and has already attracted a high demand of investors. This will join the 2 other successful developments – Tortuga and Dunas Beach Resorts. This company also has plans to build on the nearby island of Boa Vista.
Paradise Beach has completed the first half of the development and has properties for sale at inviting prices.
Vila Verde – which has suffered from bad management in the past, now has a new management company. The name of the resort has been changed to Agua Hotels Sal Vila Verde and is divided into 13 different condominiums which will include sharing reception areas, restaurants, cafes and bars, including several swimming pools, tennis courts, sauna, bike paths, fitness centre, spa, country club, night club, several restaurants showcasing regional and international cuisine, terraces, a playground and gardens. (Please note some of these facilities are not yet available but are planned for the future) 'CVDP' highly recommend investing in this complex as we believe in its future and have access, at present, to properties well under the developers price.
Cabo Verde and Sal in particular, clearly have a great deal to offer. The islands were recently named in the Lonely Planet’s Top Ten Destinations – gaining marks for their tropicality, excitement, value for money and special ‘X-factor’. Lonely Planet said that “growing international interest is bringing enormous changes to an archipelago that looks and feels as if it were born from a Caribbean mother and an African father”.
And things can only get better. Currently one of the hottest property locations in the world. “The economy should grow between 4 / 5% next year” according to the head of the bank 'Banco de Cabo Verde',which is supported by official Government growth figures.
