Property Description
Anchorage on Isle de Ronde
Chris Doyles Cruising Guide describes the anchorage being slightly rolly at Isle de Ronde, although he goes onto recommend the snorkelling. Often deserted, brave visitors who do anchor here can enjoy crystal clear waters, a beautiful sandy beach and vibrant bird population including white and brown diving pelicans.
'The Sisters' guard the Approach to Isle de Ronde
Sailing towards Ronde Island can be daunting, as the rocks called 'The Sisters' look much closer to the island from a distance. Once sailors get nearer to the passage they discover that the way is actually not particularly narrow but there are currents and confused waters off the headland. One of the favoured anchorage points is described as the N/NE corner.
Inter Island Transport
Grenada has an international Airport and is only a few miles from Isle de Ronde and easily reached by boat. Private charters by plane or speedboat are easily arranged. Ferries move regularly between the Windward and Leeward islands. Sailing is considered the finest way to approach an island such as this. The waters are crystal clear and the temperature & climate is considered to be perfect.
